In this webinar Professor Andrew Lovett will be discussing the results from his recent research which considers the Green Infrastructure provision in the East of England. He will discuss what is meant by green infrastructure and provide examples of local authorities which are looking into ways their own green infrastructure data can be analysed in order to improve provisions and services.
In his research, Andrew looked at new methodologies to map green infrastructure on a regional scale by combining data from Ordnance Survey, MasterMap and OpenStreetMap. Results for the counties of Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk were compared with data from the recently released Ordnance Survey Open Greenspace product, particularly in terms of variations between local authorities and associations with a range of socio-economic and environmental indicators.
The webinar will include a Q&A session to allow time for you to ask Andrew questions about his research.
Speaker Andrew Lovett is a Professor of Environmental Sciences at the School of Environmental Sciences, at the University of East Anglia. Andrew has undertaken research and teaching on aspects of GIS for over 25 years and is the Business and Local Government Data Research Centre Theme Lead on ‘Mapping Access to Green Infrastructure’.
