Grote Beek

The stream Grote Beek in the Geestelijke Gezondheidscentrum Eindhoven area will be reconstructed and daylighted to address the problems with flooding while also enhancing biodiversity and improving water quality. In the past, the Grote Beek stream was partly removed and the water led around the area in a pipe. The reconstruction and uncovering of the stream will again allow it to run in a natural setting. However, the stream will only be running full after a rainfall event.

The reconstruction will connect waterbodies to enable fauna migration by uncovering watercourses and by increasing the water surface and the aeration capacity of the waterbody.
