Prof. Dr. Abdul Samad (Sami) Kazi is Senior Principal Scientist, Smart Energy and Transport at VTT. VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is a globally networked multi-technological applied research organization. VTT provides high-end technology solutions and innovation services that enhance its customers’ competitiveness, thereby creating prerequisites for society’s sustainable development, employment, and wellbeing.

Dr. Kazi has been an active initiator and manager of more than 30 large scale international research projects spanning different industrial sectors and innovation lifecycle phases. His main research and publication areas have been: knowledge management, systemic innovation, service innovation, ICT for construction projects and processes, and open building manufacturing. He specialises in bringing realism to both pessimism and optimism. Sami is keen on identifying the business opportunities that may emerge from technology development. Group facilitation for strategic roadmapping and implementation action planning are a strong passion.

Sami is listed in the Marquis Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, 7th edition onwards, in the Marquis Who’s Who in World, 10th edition onwards, and in the Marquis Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders (1st edition). Sami is a recipient of the prestigious FIATECH 2012 STAR Award. He is fellow of the Entovation E100 Global Knowledge Leadership network. His iReflect profile is that of a “leader” and he is a natural motivator of people.

Sami is the coordinator of the UNaLab project.
